The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Milepost 97 Fire managers have reduced the evacuation notice for residents living between the 100 and 300 block of Ritchie Road south of Canyonville from a Level 3 “GO” to a Level 2 “Get Set” as of mid-morning Tuesday.
Sergeant Brad O’Dell of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said the reduction is largely due to firefighting progress in the area of the homes which have reduced the imminent risk. O’Dell said homeowners should still be ready to leave at a moment’s notice should conditions deteriorate. In addition, residents are asked to drive with caution as firefighting activity continues.
O’Dell said all other evacuation levels remain in place.
