One person was hurt when a semi-truck had a tire blow-out on Highway 138W near mile marker 8 in the Oakland area on Monday morning.
A report from the Oregon State Police said the accident took place at approximately 9:00 a.m. The vehicle, owned by Douglas County Public Works, was traveling west when the accident took place with the right-front tire. The report said roadway evidence showed tire marks indicating the vehicle rim hit the roadway before the rig left the right side of the paved portion of the highway. The truck then collided with a ditch which caused it to lose its cargo.
That cargo was 3-250- gallon containers of white and yellow roadway paint. The paint was contained to the crash site and posed no dangers of further contamination, according to the report.
The driver, a 56-year old man had minor injuries.
