Through a partnership with Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Management, Milepost 97 Fire managers, and Josephine County Emergency Management, people affected by the Milepost 97 Fire can now visit an interactive map to see exactly what evacuation zone they are in.
The website https://tinyurl.com/y696vqhq, is now operational. Douglas County Emergency Management and Milepost 97 Fire managers provided information to Josephine County about the evacuation zones and the fire. Using specialized software, Josephine County staff were able to produce the map for Douglas County residents to use.
Douglas County Emergency Manager Wayne Stinson said over the years Jackson, Josephine and Douglas counties have come to see the value in working cooperatively on disaster planning. He said most events are not limited to county lines so officials see the value, not only in staff workload, but also in how it provides coordinated and less confusing information to the public.
Residents are encouraged to continue monitoring official sources for additional information about the incident.
