A Reedsport man was jailed after attacking an employee at Wal-Mart on Friday morning.
A report from the Roseburg Police said at about 5:30 a.m. the 54-year old man entered the store and threw a male employee to the ground. The suspect reportedly punched the victim several times in the chest, and also scratched his face. The suspect then allegedly got up and ran at a customer in the parking lot. That customer swung his shopping bag at the suspect, which caused him to retreat and head back towards the store. Employees locked the doors, keeping the man outside until officers could arrive.
The report said the suspect did not make any statement about what happened, and was taken into custody.
He was charged with second-degree disorderly conduct, and for harassment. The suspect was detained on $5,000 bail.
