EXPECT FREEWAY DELAYS THROUGH MILEPOST 97 FIRE AREA TUESDAY MORNING

July 29, 2019 4:15 p.m.
Motorists on Interstate Five should expect additional delays in both directions Tuesday morning as fire crews remove hazard trees south of Canyonville due to the Milepost 97 Fire.
Dan Latham of the Oregon Department of Transportation said between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. ODOT will administer rolling slowdowns between mileposts 88 and 101. That is from the Azalea area to around Gazley Road.
Latham said flaggers will hold southbound motorists entering the freeway for up to 20 minutes at these locations: Exit 101 at Riddle Road, Exit 99 at North Canyonville, and at Exit 98 in Canyonville. Northbound motorists will be held at Exit 88 in Azalea.
Latham said southbound Interstate Five is limited to a single lane from milepost 97 to 93 due to the nearby fire. Motorists should expect congestion and delays, as well as low visibility due to the smoke.
Both off-ramps at Exit 95 at Canyon Creek remain closed.
