July 26, 2019 3:35 a.m.
A power pole fell on the pickup that hit it, Thursday morning in Sutherlin.
Police Chief Troy Mills of the Sutherlin Police Department said just after 8:00 a.m. Sutherlin Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to the crash which took place in the 500 block of South Calapooia. Mills said a pickup that was traveling north crossed over the center lanes and struck the pole on the west side of the road. The 42-year old driver was not hurt when the pole landed on his pickup, according to Mills.
The driver getting debris in his eye, apparently led to the accident.
Police and fire personnel remained on the scene until it was turned over to Pacific Power for repairs to the lines. All lanes of the road were shutdown temporarily.
