Representatives of the Oregon Department of State Lands and Oregon State University will be in Roseburg on July 30th to host a public open house on the exploratory process of a possible research forest within the Elliot State Forest.
A release from DSL said the event is an opportunity to learn about the forest and its history, what led to exploration of a potential research forest and the upcoming planning process. Representatives from the DSL and the OSU College of Forestry will be available to provide information and answer questions.
The open house will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in room 100 of the Health, Nursing and Science building at Umpqua Community College.
The release said the event is one of several opportunities for the public to learn about and remain engaged with the Elliot public ownership process as the exploration of a research forest continues.
The Elliot State Forest is in Douglas and Coos counties.
