Mercy Medical Center has announced that 4 new members have joined the CHI Mercy Health board of directors.
The new members include:
*Dr. Timothy Powell, Family Medicine physician and CEO of Evergreen Family Medicine
*Melony Marsh, certified commercial investment member and broker at G. Stiles Realty.
*Alden Bliss, chief financial officer for the Ford Family Foundation
*Ana Ramirez, English Language learner coordinator and teacher with the Sutherlin School District.
The new board members join 9 existing members and will each serve a 3-year term.
Kathleen Nickel from Mercy Medical said board members play an important role. She said that as a governing board, they are responsible for ensuring that the hospital fulfills its mission, protects its assets, maintains a high standard for patient care, and conforms to legislation and standards set by regulatory and advisory agencies. Nickel said board members also help develop and update a strategic plan for the hospital and monitor and evaluate plans or programs to ensure that they meet the hospital’s priorities, goals and policies.
