MAN JAILED FOR DRUG, OTHER CHARGES

July 17, 2019 9:00 a.m.
A Roseburg man was jailed for drug and other charges on Tuesday afternoon.
A report from the Roseburg Police said just before 5:00 p.m. officers responded to the Rose Villa Apartments on Northeast Stephens for reports of a stolen vehicle. The victim said her ex-husband stole her car and refused to give her any information on where it was. The report said the suspect had left the area on foot and was contacted by officers.
During the investigation, 23-year old Damian Sanchez was allegedly found to be in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine. It was also found that the man had taken the victim’s car without her permission, and had also slashed 2 of the tires. The car was found nearby and returned to the owner. The report said there is also a restraining order and a no contact order in place, preventing Sanchez from contacting the victim.
Sanchez was charged with unlawful possession of meth, unlawful use of a vehicle, for violating a restraining order and a no contact order, and for warrants that were out for the man’s arrest.
He remains in the Douglas County Jail.
