In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:
The Douglas County Youth Orchestra is registering new students for the 2019/2020 season.
The group is sponsored by the Umpqua Symphony Association. Rehearsals are held on Tuesdays from September through May beginning at 4:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church on West Harvard. The orchestra’s partnership with the Eugene Symphony Orchestra allows DCYO students to work with professional musicians in “sectionals” where students are able to work in small groups focusing on musical issues unique to their instrument.
Current members will be performing with the Eugene Symphony during their appearance at Music on the Half Shell on July 30^th.
