PORT ANNOUNCES LEADERSHIP HIRE

The Oregon International Port of Coos Bay has announced that Jake Jacobs will serve as its new Director of Infrastructure Support Services. The release said the position is new to the Port, and will entail oversight of the Project Management Department.
A release from the Port said that since 2000, it has secured and invested approximately $67 million into projects to improve the infrastructure on the Coos Bay Rail Line. In addition, another $52 million in projects are funded and scheduled to take place I the next few years. The release said that effective management of these funds is critical in ensuring that the Port stays in compliance with required governmental regulations and maintains “its competitive advantage” to acquiring funding in the future.
According to the release, Jacobs will also manage procurement processes at the Port, overseeing all activities and procedures associated with acquiring needed goods and services from external parties.
Jacobs comes to the Port with a broad knowledge base and experience in logistics, contracting, program management, transportation and sales, according to the release. Prior to a position with the United States Army, he worked with the US Army Corps of Engineers as a Procuring Contracting Officer.
