GRAFFITI WEEKEND STARTS WEDNESDAY

The 38th annual Graffiti Weekend gets started Wednesday in Roseburg.
What began as a cruise on West Harvard in 1982, has evolved into 5 days of events all around Douglas County.
Wednesday has only one organized activity: Street Memories Kick Off to Graffiti Show at the Roseburg VA Medical Center. Entry starts at 12:00 p.m. with the event running from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Awards will be given out at 4:00 p.m. The show is open to all years and makes of cars, trucks and motorcycles. Canned food will be accepted to benefit the food bank program of the United Community Action Network. Call 673-4369 for more information.
Events ramp up starting Thursday with several activities each day. That includes cruise-ins, show-n-shines, drag races, and much more.
On Saturday the 37th annual River Forks Show-N-Shine will be presented by the Stray Angels Car Club from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at River Forks Park. Saturday night it’s the 38th annual Umpqua Flatheads Roseburg Graffiti Night Cruise on Jackson Street and Main Street in downtown Roseburg.

104-5 SAM-FM will provide segments of graffiti music each day. Those will be simulcast on News Radio 1240 KQEN on Thursday and Friday night, and for much of the day on Saturday.
