Drivers south of Ashland should expect slow moving traffic and delays due to a 3-year project on Interstate Five south of Ashland.
Information from the Oregon Department of Transportation said contractor Carter and Company will repair and replace damaged concrete sections as well as grind rutted travel lanes between the California border and eleven miles to the north. The work will continue through mid-October.
Drivers will see single lane traffic with crossovers, one at a time, to isolate traffic and the construction workers and equipment. The delays and backups are especially likely southbound on the climb up the Siskiyou summit. The work zone speed limit will be posted at 40 miles per hour and will be enforced by the Oregon State Police.
