MAN JAILED AFTER BEING TASED

A Sutherlin man went to jail after being tased by a deputy with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on Monday.
A DCSO report said just before 8:00 a.m. a deputy stopped a vehicle near the intersection with Highway 138 and Mehl Road, because it had expired tags. The driver, 36-year old Jesse Moss, reportedly fled the vehicle for a short distance before stopping and partially giving up. While at taser point, Moss allegedly again took off running and was tased. The man was then taken into custody without incident.
The report said oxycodone was located in the vehicle. The man said he ran because he knew there were warrants out for his arrest. Moss was initially charged with attempting to elude police on foot, interfering with a police officer, unlawful possession of oxycodone, and for a number of warrants. He was initially detained on $57,500 bail.
