One resident was hospitalized following a fire that destroyed an RV in north county on Saturday morning.

Fire Chief Brian Burke from North Douglas County Fire and EMS said just after 9:30 a.m. crews were dispatched to reports of a fire at the Eagle Valley RV Park, in the 200 block of Eagle Valley Road in Yoncalla. Burke said crews arrived to find a fully involved RV fire with multiple exposures, downed power lines and trees on fire. Initial and secondary engines engaged in an offensive fire attack, knocking down the fire within five minutes of arrival. Burke said crews remained on the scene for an additional hour, mopping up the fire and attending to the downed power line safety.

Ambulance crews transported the single occupant of the RV to CHI Mercy Medical Center with serious injuries. They were later transferred to Legacy Emmanuel Medical Center in Portland.
