Two people were hospitalized following a suspected DUII crash on Tuesday night.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just after 10:30 p.m. deputies responded to an accident in the area of Azalea-Glen Road and Forty Niner Lane in the Glendale area, after a caller said there had been a vehicle accident.

After further investigation, it appeared the 34-year-old was operating a southbound vehicle when she failed to negotiate a right-hand curve, and her vehicle struck a tree on the south side of the roadway. The woman was somehow able to exit her vehicle and walk to a nearby residence where she called for help.

The driver and her passenger were both transported to Asante Three Rivers Medical Center in Grants Pass with suspected serious injuries. The woman admitted to a deputy that she had consumed alcohol and smoked methamphetamine approximately one hour before the crash. The hospital advised that the driver had extensive injuries. A blood draw revealed a 0.055 blood alcohol level. A tow company responded to recover the vehicle.
