Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a Roseburg area man on assault charges, following an alleged incident on Wednesday night.

A DCSO report said at 5:50 p.m. a caller said there was a disturbance involving 38-year- old Camden Ellenwood and a victim in the 2000 block of La Canada Drive in Green. When a deputy arrived, the victim had significant facial injuries and stated that he had been assaulted and choked by Ellenwood.

The suspect denied ever striking the victim. Ellenwood had a split lip and a bite on his thumb. A witness refused to speak with the deputy about the incident. Ellenwood was charged with 4th-degree assault, menacing and strangulation. He was detained without bail.
