Aviva Health’s capital campaign got off to a fast start with a $100,000 grant from the Oregon Community Foundation.

The award comes on the heels of the Douglas County based Federally Qualified Health Center’s groundbreaking, held virtually last week.

OCF Senior Program Officer John Moriarty said “Aviva’s Family Medicine Residency program address one of the root causes of insufficient rural health care – the lack of primary physicians”. He said that OCF is proud to invest in the clinic expansion, which is necessary to bring the residency program to its full complement of 24 doctors. Moriarty said OCF believes this will help create a sustainable professional health care workforce for Aviva Health as well as health care organizations throughout Douglas County and beyond.

Construction is expected to be completed by May of 2022.
