MAJOR CRIMES TEAM INVESTIGATING SHOOTING AT ROSEBURG MOTEL

The Douglas County Major Crimes Team is investigating a shooting at the Budget 16 Motel in Roseburg.

Sergeant Brad O’Dell of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said just before 3:00 p.m. Monday, 911 dispatchers received multiple reports of the incident in the 1000 block of Northeast Stephens. Officers with the Roseburg Police and partner agencies responded to the scene.

Sergeant Jeff Eichenbusch of the Roseburg Police told News Radio 1240 KQEN that several victims were treated in the parking lot of the motel and had been transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center. Eichenbusch said a suspect was taken into custody across the street from the motel on Northeast Neuner Street. He was also taken to Mercy for treatment. Information on the names and conditions of the victims are being withheld at this time.

Investigators are processing the crime scene and conducting interviews. There is no longer a threat to the public.

O’Dell said the location is still an active scene. Additional details will be released as they become available.
