A transient was jailed after a wreck, and after he attempted to elude police on Monday.

A report from Roseburg Police said at about 10:45 a.m. 35-year old Creighton Ellenwood was allegedly driving recklessly southbound on West Umpqua. As he approached the intersection with West Harvard, the man locked up his brakes and reportedly skidded for about 100 feet, before striking the back of a sedan.

The report said Ellenwood then fled the scene in his vehicle, but was followed by a witness to Brown Street, where he parked his pickup. Officers contacted the suspect there, but he fled a second time. Ellenwood drove to the Roseburg VA property where he allegedly continued to drive recklessly. VA Police took him into custody after he got stuck by parked vehicles.

Charges included failure to perform the duties of a driver, attempt to elude in a vehicle, and two counts each of reckless driving and reckless endangering. Bail was set at $81,250.
