POLICE INVESTIGATING DAMAGE TO SOCCER FIELDS

Roseburg Police are investigating damage to the Fir Grove soccer fields.

After social media posts reporting the situation, News Radio 1240 KQEN went to the field on Monday and found that a vehicle or vehicles had driven around on a section of the wet grass, apparently spinning out and cutting cookies. Sergeant Jeff Eichenbusch said the damage allegedly occurred last Thursday night or early Friday morning. Eichenbusch said a rough estimate from Parks Department staff indicates it will cost around $300 to repair the grass.

Eichenbusch said RPD is working on leads in the case. He said officers are checking to see if any nearby video cameras can help determine who was involved and what vehicle or vehicles caused the mess.

Anyone with information is asked to call Roseburg Police.
