HIGHEST DAILY STATE CASE COUNT FOR COVID-19 REPORTED SATURDAY

On Saturday, the Oregon Health Authority reported the highest daily number of COVID-19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic, for the second day in a row.

1,509 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19 were announced, along with 7 more deaths. That raises the state’s death toll to 819 and brings the state case total to 63,668, reflecting an accelerating spread of the virus across the state. The new cases include:

*223 in Washington County

*124 in Marion County

*122 in Clackamas County

*87 in Lane County

*63 in Jackson County

*60 in Yamhill County

*45 in Linn County

*42 in Polk County

*40 in Umatilla County

*37 in Douglas County

*35 in Deschutes County

*31 in Union County

*27 in Malheur County

*22 in Benton County

*20 in Klamath County

*16 in Josephine County

*14 in Wasco County

*11 in Grant County

*10 in Morrow County

*9 in Baker County

*8 in Jefferson County

*7 in Lake County

*6 each in Coos and Hood River counties

*5 in Clatsop County

*4 each in Curry and Lincoln counties

*3 each in Crook and Harney counties

*1 in Wheeler County

The new deaths ranged in age from 75 to 86. 4 lived in Jackson County. 1 each lived in Douglas, Columbia and Washington counties.
