A Roseburg man was jailed for 436 restraining order violations and for a drug charge on Monday.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said a victim reported that Joshua Weippert was violating his restraining order by contacting them. The deputy confirmed the order was valid. He verified the suspect was sending the texts and counted each message that was sent to the victim. Those messages were sent between April 25th and May 18th. The report said Weippert clearly stated he knew it was a violation.
The man was contacted at about 7:00 p.m. in the 800 block of Shadow Ranch Lane. The deputy allegedly found a small baggie containing just over a half gram of methamphetamine, in the suspect’s pocket.
Weippert was initially detained on 437 charges. He was released from custody on Tuesday.
