The 36th annual Umpqua River clean-up day is Saturday.
The Restoration Committee of Umpqua Watersheds is seeking volunteers to help clean up the shores of the Umpqua River from the headwaters to the sea. Organizers say there is a lot of trash that needs to be removed before the high water comes. Those participating should bring water to drink and rain gear. Watersheds will supply gloves, trash bags and trash grabbers.
The event is set to run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
