Umpqua Community College will induct 3 new members into its Spirit of Umpqua Hall of Fame on Monday.
A release from the school, said once every 5 years, the college considers nominations for people to join an elite group, which consists of 23 members.
The award was established in 1994 and honors people who have made significant contributions to UCC through their actions, talents, dedication and/or financial support. The release said those contributions advance the college, contribute to the common good, and inspire others to lead a life of service and educational advocacy.
The new inductees include:
*Vic Bridges, former UCC Automotive program chair who gets the award posthumously.
*Danny Lang, Douglas County attorney and UCC Foundation board member.
*Perry Murray, UCC women’s assistant basketball coach and UCC Foundation board member.
The 3 inductees will have a plaque commemorating their service to UCC placed in the Jacoby Auditorium lobby. Each plaque contains the inductee’s name, job title, or relationship to the college, years of service to or in behalf of UCC and a formal portrait photo.
The induction ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m.in Jacoby Auditorium.
