Marine Deputies will hold two free Boat Safety Inspection Clinics this weekend.
Sergeant Brad O’Dell of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said inspections will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. each day. They will be held at the Winston Bi-Mart on Saturday and the Sutherlin Bi-Mart on Sunday.
O’Dell said the purpose of the event is to provide boaters with an opportunity to have their pre-season safety inspections completed. The inspection process will include checking for:
*Approved life jackets
*Working fire extinguishers
*Approved type IV floating devices
*Approved sound producing equipment
*Working engine blower fan
*Assistance with the proper placement of registration numbers and stickers
O’Dell said that boaters who pass inspection, will receive a 2019 inspection sticker.
