This year’s Earth Day and Energy Fair is happening Saturday.
The 19th annual event will be in the Exhibit Building at the Douglas County Fairgrounds from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Those attending can learn about organic gardening, green living, energy efficiency, native plants and trees, and much more.
Activities include the Umpqua Valley Migratory Bird Festival. An expanded number of workshops will be in the Community Conference Hall. There will also be live music from the Phoenix School Band, Taste of Jam and more. Sustainability demonstrations, a poetry contest, electric and alternative power car rally, electric bikes and more are also part of the event.
Admission is free but those attending are asked to bring a donation for the food bank program of the United Community Action Network.
