A Roseburg man was jailed on Thursday night, accused of interfering with a firefighter.
Information from the Roseburg Police said at about 9:00 p.m. Eric Ohlsen was reported to be burning trash in his backyard without a permit. The home was in the 1800 block of Dogwood.
When the fire department responded they saw flames tall enough to catch nearby trees on fire. The report said Ohlsen would not allow firefighters to enter his backyard to extinguish the fire. He was warned about the interfering statue but continued to be non-compliant. The report said while Ohlsen was being taken into custody, he resisted arrest and had to be forced to the ground.
Ohlsen was detained on $12,500 bail.
