The RIverbend Live summer concert series is just over two weeks away.
The Friday night shows are celebrating their 22nd year at Winston’s Riverbend Park. Shows are free to those attending and are funded by businesses, individuals and foundations.
This year’s line-up offers a diverse array of entertainment:
*July 6th its Ruthie Foster. Foster is a multi-Grammy nominated blues and folk artist who has won numerous awards.
*July 13th Jenny Don’t and the Spurs will play. They are described as a new roots country band based in Portland.
*July 20th it’s the annual night of cowboy poetry and western music. Riders in the Sky and poet Andy Hedges will be featured. Riders in the Sky have performed for over 40 years and may best be known for their music featured in the movie Toy Story 2.
*July 27th and 28th its Riverbend Live Youth Theater. “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” will be performed by Winston area young people.
*August 3rd Delta Rae plays with opener Carolina Story. Delta Rae is an American folk rock band from North Carolina.
Those attending the shows can bring dinner along with beer or wine. Vendors have food available as well. Riverbend Live shows begin at 7:00 p.m.
