There were multiple injuries in a four vehicle crash that took place Tuesday afternoon in Roseburg.
A report from Roseburg Police says that at about 4:00 p.m. all four vehicles were northbound on Northeast Stephens near Northeast Isabelle, in the area of Costco. The report says one driver, a 57 year old man, stopped for traffic in front of him. That caused the second and third driver’s, a 55 year old woman and a 19 year old woman, to stop as well. The fourth vehicle, operated by a 57 year old man, came up behind the third vehicle and accidently hit the gas pedal instead of the brakes, creating an accordion effect that left all four vehicles hit.
An officer on the scene said it appeared all four vehicles were totaled, but one person was able to drive their car away. Minor injuries were sustained by multiple drivers and passengers. No one was taken to the hospital however.
The man who caused the accident was cited for following too closely. One of the other drivers was cited for driving uninsured.
