A Winter Storm Warning continues through Thursday night above 4,000 feet in mountain areas in southern Oregon.
That warning area includes the south central and southern Oregon Cascades, the Siskiyou Mountains and locations like Crater Lake and Diamond Lake. Heavy snow is expected to fall making travel very difficult to impossible in some locations. Additional snow accumulations of up to 15 inches are expected with some places getting up to 20 inches of snow.
While forecasters say that travel in these areas is strongly discouraged, those who must be on the road should keep tire chains, a flashlight, blankets, food, water, medications and a fully charged phone with them.
The Winter Storm Warning is in place until 10:00 p.m. Thursday.
