A Level 3 Evacuation is in effect for the community of Dry Creek including Illahee Flats, east of Glide.
Sergeant Brad O’Dell of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says the evacuation went into effect Saturday evening at about 8:00 p.m. Level 3 means that residents should leave their home immediately as danger to the area where they live is current or imminent.
Horsehoe Bend Campground went to Level 3 late Saturday afternoon and was evacuated. The Moore Hill Lane remains at a Level 2 Evacuation notice and should be ready to leave their homes at a moment’s notice if they have not already done so.
The American Red Cross has a shelter for wildfire evacuees set up at the Glide Seventh Day Adventist Church on North Umpqua Highway.
The Falls Creek Fire is burning in the area of the evacuation notices and is one of at least 75 fires burning on the Umpqua National Forest.
