Douglas County Human Resources Director Michael Kurtz has released a statement on the status of the investigation involving the Public Works Department.
In an email to News Radio 1240 KQEN Kurtz says “The County does not have any new information on the criminal investigation and we do not have an exact timeline yet on when employees will be able to come back to work. The independent forensic audit team is still completing its work and we hope to have that process wrapped up no later than Wednesday of this week.”
His statement goes on to say “After the County receives the audit information we will be able to make some determinations regarding the scope of the problem and how soon we can clear employees to come back to work. In addition to the audit process, Commissioner Morgan met with County staff on Monday to review the Public Works Department’s inventory tracking process to determine how improvements could be made”.
