The week-long closure of a section of Oregon Highway 42 is having an impact on many companies in the area, including Roseburg Forest Products.
Rebecca Taylor from RFP says company trucks make several runs a day between the companyÕs plants in Dillard and Coquille. Taylor says the highway closure is adding an hour to the time it takes for the trip. Trucks are now going north to Sutherlin and then taking highways 138 and 38 to highway 101 and back around to Highway 42 East.
Taylor says the RFP chip export facility at North Bend receives around 100 truckloads of chips per day from various suppliers. She says the closure of the highway is adding time to each delivery and is reducing the number of runs each supplier can make per day.
