A semi truck and trailer slid into a ditch, blocking a lane of traffic on Highway 99 on Monday afternoon.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says that at about 3:15 p.m. a driver had cut a corner too sharp while trying to get onto the highway near the Shady Oaks Motel, south of Roseburg. The truck hit a pole after sliding into the ditch. The trailer lost part of its load of veneer.
One lane of the highway was blocked while the mess was cleaned up and the truck and trailer could be dealt with. The 69 year old driver, a man from Oakland, was cited for careless driving.
