In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:
Grammy award-winning multi-instrumentalist Nancy Rumbel is performing “American Dreams” with the Umpqua Chamber Orchestra and UCC Chamber Choir under the direction of conductor and composer Dr. Jason Heald on February 27th.
The all-American program will celebrate music spanning four centuries and includes folk songs, a Navajo prayer, and compositions by Aaron Copeland, Stephen Foster, Bill Strayhorn and Samuel Barber.
Rumbel has performed in Roseburg as part of Tingstad and Rumbel many times over the years. Her primary instruments are oboe, English horn, and ocarinas. Dr. Heald has led the Umpqua Chamber Orchestra and UCC Chamber Choir for the past two decades.
The performance will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Southeast Lane in downtown Roseburg. Admission is $10 at the door. Students will be admitted free with a valid student ID. The concert will start at 7:30 p.m.
