A Roseburg man is in jail, accused of stealing a pickup and a shotgun on Monday morning.
Information released on Wednesday by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says a victim reported his items were taken by Steven Standley. The victim told deputies that Standley said he was going into town to kill Roseburg Police officers. By the time deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office arrived the man had returned both items. He had then gotten a ride from a neighbor and was stopped by deputies on Curry Road.
Sergeant Brad O’Dell says that Standley admitted to TP-ing the River Forks Market, taking the pickup and hiding the shotgun. The 63 year old was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, being a felon in possession of a firearm, third degree criminal mischief and for criminal trespass.
He is being held on $51,250 bail.
