Thunderstorms are possible on the Umpqua National Forest for Tuesday.
Dan Wining of the Forest Service says that scattered lightning and new fire starts are possible. Forecasters expect it to be cooler, breezy and turning stable by Wednesday. High temperatures are expected to range between 80 and 90 with minimum humidity of around 30% to 40%.
Pilot cars continue to escort motorists through a four mile stretch of Highway 138 East from mile markers 47 to 51. Conditions could change at any time and the highway could close again due to safety concerns. Use www.tripcheck.com before you plan to drive through that area.
Numerous campgrounds, roads, trails and forest areas remain closed on the Umpqua National Forest.
