Three men were cited in connection with the poaching of a bull elk in the Idleyld Park area of Douglas County.
A release from Oregon State Police says that on Friday September 8th, OSP Fish and Wildlife Troopers seized a 8×6 bull elk on private timber property. The OSP report alleges that 27 year old Cody Miller shot the bull with a bow on September 4th on Roseburg Forest Products property which was closed to the public due to the high fire danger. Cody Miller was assisted by 27 year old Dylan Miller and by 25 year old Brian Philpott of Glide, according to the OSP report. The trophy bull was seized.
Cody Miller was issued criminal citations and released for hunting on another enclosed land, unlawful taking of a bull elk, and for counseling in a wildlife violation. Dylan Miller and Brian Philpott were issued criminal citations for criminal trespass and for aiding in a wildlife offense.
