Two men were arrested by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office following a robbery early Thursday morning.
Sergeant Brad O’Dell says at about 1:20 a.m. the 9-1-1 Center received a report of a man who had entered the 103 Chevron in Riddle and attempted to leave with a six pack of beer. O’Dell says an employee of the store attempted to stop the man from leaving. While doing so the employee was punched and pushed from the suspect’s vehicle while it was moving at about 30-40 miles per hour.
Sergeant O’Dell says a deputy located the suspect vehicle, which was stolen, traveling on Interstate Five north of Glendale. The deputy tried to stop the vehicle but the driver attempted to flee. The pursuit ended 7 miles further south on the freeway after an Oregon State Police trooper was able to successfully deflate the tires on the suspect vehicle.
The driver, 19 year old, Cody Wyckoff of Glide, was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, attempt to elude police, driving under the influence of intoxicants, recklessly endangering another person, possession of a stolen vehicle, third degree robbery, second degree assault, and for reckless driving. He is being held on over $528,000 bail.
The 20 year old passenger, Jason Snyder of Winston, was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, third degree robbery and second degree assault. He is being held on $400,000 bail.
