A Level 1 Evacuation Notice has been issued for the Dry Creek area, and areas to the west due to a fire and fire starts in that area.
Sergeant Brad O’Dell of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says the notice was issued by the Umpqua National Forest staff. The notice is for people starting at the Moore Hill Lane area, and moving east to the community of Dry Creek along Highway 138E.
Cheryl Caplan of the Umpqua National Forest says the Falls Creek Fire is at 10 acres.
A Level 1 Evacuation Notice means residents should “be prepared” in case there is a need to evacuate at some point. People in that area should be aware that fire danger exists in their area, and should monitor emergency services websites and the local media for more information.
