July 17, 2017 5:00 a.m.

One person died and one was taken to the hospital after a single vehicle accident near Interstate Five, three miles south of Sutherlin on Sunday afternoon.

The wreck took place at milepost 133 at about 5:00 p.m. Tire tracks appeared to show that the southbound vehicle left the freeway, taking a sharp right turn and heading down a hill. The vehicle came to rest upside down on the west side of Rogers Road, a few hundred feet from the freeway.

A trooper on the scene confirmed to News Radio 1240 KQEN that one person had died in the wreck.  No word on the condition of the second person was given.

Oregon State Police have not yet released a report on the accident.
