A driver trying to avoid a spider is apparently responsible for a head on collision in Roseburg Saturday afternoon.
A report from Roseburg Police says that at about 1:30 p.m. a 71 year old man was driving west on Northwest Edenbower near Northeast Stephens when he said a spider started dropping into his lap. The man said he became focused on trying to avoid the spider when he drove into the center turn lane striking another vehicle head on. That second driver’s vehicle was pushed into a third vehicle, causing minor damage to car he hit. The first two vehicles had extensive damage and had to be towed away.
The driver that caused the accident was taken to Mercy Medical with a complaint of chest pain from his seatbelt. He was cited for failure to drive within a lane.
