A Roseburg driver claims that one crash led to another on Thursday night in north Roseburg.
A report from the Roseburg Police says that at about 5:30 p.m. a 26 year old woman was driving north in the 3400 block of Northeast Stephens. She told officers that traffic was coming to a stop due to an accident a short distance away. The woman said she moved slightly to the right to avoid hitting the car in front of her. A 55 year old man was also going north and told police he was unable to stop and hit the back of the first vehicle when a pickup rear ended him first.
The driver said that a pickup, described as a blue Ford, quickly left the scene and headed north toward Costco. The report said the officer didn’t see any damage to the 55 year old man’s vehicle and the first driver did not see the vehicle mentioned. Officers searched the area and couldn’t locate a blue Ford with front end damage.
The second driver was cited for following too closely.
