4 adults were rescued when their raft overturned on Thursday afternoon.
Sergeant Brad O’Dell of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened on the North Umpqua River along Highway 138E below Horseshoe Bend near Dry Creek at about 12:45 p.m.
O’Dell says that emergency personnel responded to the scene and found all four of the rafters. One female was transported to Mercy Medical Center for observation. The other three people were uninjured.
Sergeant Brad O’Dell says that those responding included Oregon State Police, Douglas County Fire District No.2 Swift Water Rescue, Douglas County Emergency Management, REACH Air Ambulance, Bay Cities Ambulance, and the United States Forest Service.
