Staff with the City of Roseburg is asking drivers to be cautious as they use neighborhood streets when a section of Stewart Parkway closes on Monday as part of the South Stewart Parkway Project.
A special news release from the city says the 90 day closure of Stewart Parkway between Harvey Avenue and Valley View Drive will begin at 6:00 a.m. Monday morning. Traffic will be detoured onto Keasey Street and Valley View Drive. Some traffic patterns in the detour area will change and motorists are advised to watch their speed while passing through the area. Residents will be backing in and out of driveways on Keasey and other nearby streets while high traffic volume is expected.
Crews will place speed humps and radar trailers on Keasey Street to help slow traffic down.
While Stewart Parkway will be closed from Harvey Avenue to Valley View Drive, those going to the Ford Family Foundation will be able get there by heading south on Stewart Parkway from Valley View. The closure which starts Monday, will be in place through mid-September.
