MINOR TRAFFIC IMPACTS ON STEWART PARKWAY BEGIN MONDAY

May 19, 2017Kyle BaileyNews Radio 1240 KQEN Comments

May 19, 2017 9:00 a.m.

Minor traffic impacts to motorists on Stewart Parkway will begin Monday as the South Stewart Parkway Improvement Project gets underway.

Officials with the City of Roseburg say two-way traffic will be maintained but cones will be placed to move traffic to the west side of the roadway near the Newton Creek Bridge. This will allow work along the east shoulder between the bridge and the entrance to the Ford Family Foundation to take place.

Lane shifts will periodically occur at the Harvey intersection while Pacific Power and other utilities continue work in that area.

Over the next two weeks, the contractor will:

*Begin placing silt fencing

*Install construction fencing along the existing multi-use path.

*Fence removal and replacement along Stewart Parkway and at the southwest tennis court.

*Stripping of organic material that is over the top of the soil north of the Newton Creek bridge on the east side of Stewart Parkway.

Work on the South Stewart Parkway Improvement Project will take place between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
