Hikers exploring the area east of Cottage Gove will want to avoid the Upper Trestle Crest Creek Falls Trail.
Information from the Forest Service says the agency is maintaining a temporary closure of the 2.6 mile trail at two junctions with the Brice Creek Trail. This is happening during timber falling operations associated with the Parker-Wyatt timber sale. That trail is on Forest Road 2470.
The temporary closure is expected to continue through mid-May.
Other waterfall trails along the Forest Road that remain open for hiking include Parker Falls, Trestle Creek Falls and Brice Creek Falls. Recent rains are pushing a lot of water over all the falls, making for a powerful experience at the falls.
