The 17th annual Earth Day and Energy Fair is Saturday at the Douglas County Fairgrounds.
Organizers say those attending can learn more about organic gardening, green living, energy efficiency, composting and more. The event will feature crafts, papermaking, a poetry contest, electric and alternative power car rally, an art contest and much more.
The Umpqua Valley Migratory Bird Festival will be included and there will be a Sunrise Enterprises Fashion Show at 11:00 a.m. Live music from the Wild Irish Rovers, Underground River, and the Phoenix School Band will take place.
Admission is free but people are asked to bring a canned food donation to help the food bank program of the United Community Action Network. The Earth Day and Energy Fair will run from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
