The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is looking to identify and speak with a number of suspects in connection with an incident that took place December 21 in Azalea.
According to a release from the Sheriff’s Office, an Azalea resident was confronted by four people in his driveway in the 700 block of Quines Creek Road around 2:00 p.m. The confrontation was reportedly over a disagreement from a previous sale of a motor vehicle.
The Sheriff’s Office says that during the altercation one of the subjects shot at the Azalea resident with a handgun. The man was not struck by the gunfire and was able to escape to safety.
Authorities are now searching for the four suspects in question and have released security camera footage in hopes of learning the identification of three of the four people. Two of the unknown suspects are male and one is female. The Sheriff’s Office is also looking to talk with Robert Gordon Bates, a 27-year-old from Grants Pass.
The suspects were last seen driving a white late 1990s model Ford Expedition.
